Southend Arts Festival Competitions

The Victoria shopping centre, Southend
Saturday, 20/06/2009
12pm-3pm
FREE

Think you’re the next Vin Diesel?  Are you good with gadgets?  We’re looking for you to take on this racing challenge at the Victoria.  As you go head to head with another opponent, you’re challenged to build your own obstacle course following some straight-forward rules (where we’ve thrown in a few tricky tasks for you). Once this is completed the race is on, with the first person to negotiate their model car around their track successfully being the winner!  Not only do you get to beat your opponent – the fastest time during the day gets to keep their car!  You can also come along and just watch the fun and find out how mini robots are programmed from our very own ‘Scrapheap Challenging’ staff from South East Essex College.
