EXCLUSIVE:An Audience with Dave Prowse
30-06-2009
7.00pm – 9.30pm [includes 15 minute interval]
The Pod, South East Essex College, Southend-on-Sea
£5.00*
*(all proceeds to go to Dave Prowse’s chosen charity: the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton, Surrey)
Best known for his role as the Green Cross Code Man and Star Wars villain Darth Vader, one of the most notorious screen
villains in cinema history, Dave Prowse has certainly lived a fascinating life. Exclusively for Southend Festival Seven,
the actor will be sharing anecdotes about his life and career from his early days as a bodybuilder to receiving an MBE from the Queen.
There will also be a Q and A.
Dave recently made public his battle with prostate cancer and has asked that all proceeds from this event go to the Royal
Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton, Surrey, where he is being treated.
Local star, Mike Edmonds, who played the Ewok Logray in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and starred in Time Bandits, will also be in
attendance subject to his availability.
Only 250 tickets will be made available for this one-off event, so we advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.
Tickets can be purchased in the following ways:
By Phone
Card payments can be made over the phone by calling Call 01702 220400. Please note we do not accept American Express.
In Person
Pop into the main reception at South East Essex College in Luker Road, Southend and pay by cash or card.
The Festival runs in June with dozens of events across Southend Theatres, Leigh Arts
Trail, Leigh Film Society, Leigh Folk Festival, Southend Radio, Southend Museums,
Chinnery’s, The Royal Hotel, South East Essex College and other partners.
Organised by South East Essex College to celebrate
Southend as the creative hub of the Thames Gateway,
the Festival is sponsored by HSBC and Renaissance Southend.

A tragedy by the Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca, Blood Wedding combines poetry with a strong sense of the Andalucían culture and landscape. Inspired by a story reported in a newspaper, it tells of a bride who runs away on her wedding day with another man, and of the revenge taken to protect the family honour. Using Ted Hughes's English version, the BND Acting company intend to create a strongly visual and physical production, with live music.”
